The High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy led by Australia's Prime Minister recommends seaweed as a solution for a sustainable ocean economy.
It recommends a priority action to "Scale up environmentally responsible commercial farming of seaweed and algae to provide food and create alternatives for products such as fuels, aquaculture and agriculture feedstocks, biotech, and viable and sustainable plastic alternatives.”
